L'Occitane Lavender Foaming Bath

I recently picked up this month's Marie Claire magazine for the free Inika eyeliner, and noticed a few pages in that they were giving away a free travel-sized sample of L'Occitane's Lavender Foaming Bath. All you needed to do was fill in the little form and take it to a L'Occitane Boutique. Luckily, we have a L'Occitane in the Metro Centre and my boyfriend works in the Apple store there, so he popped by on his lunch and collected this for me.

This is a 100ml sample, which is worth £8. The full 500ml retails for £20. I really like L'Occitane products, although I find them particularly pricey. I love their packaging, the scents of their products and even their small makeup range. I'd never tried any of their bubble baths, so I was quite excited to use this.

Lavender is definitely not one of my favourite scents, I find it slightly overpowering and not sweet enough to my tastes. However, this doesn't smell synthetic and I actually found the fragrance quite relaxing when mixed in the water. It creates a nice amount of bubbles, although nothing special considering the price. They were gone after my half an hour bathe. I haven't noticed any extra softness when it comes to my skin either, unfortunately!

I can certainly understand the relaxing element to it, allowing me to unwind and have a peaceful soak, but definitely can't justify the £20 price tag, particularly when there are far more interesting and exciting bath products around.

Have you picked up this freebie, or tried any of L'Occitane's bath products? Can you justify the price?

  3. I absolutely love the smell of lavender, my mum used it a lot when I was young so it's really comforting to me!
I'd have to be very impressed by what is effectively a bubble bath to spend £20 on it though, you're pretty much literally washing money down the drain!

I'm currently running a a giveaway, the prize is either the original St Tropez Mousse or the new dark one, if you fancy a look- http://xhannahsaidso.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/giveaway-st-tropez-dark-bronzing-mousse.html

  7. I'm also not a big fan of lavender smell. My mother, on the other hand, is obsessed with it!
