Betrousse Christmas Box

Betrousse Christmas Box - £19*

A bit late to the party with this one, I know. But Betrousse contacted me back in January asking if I'd like to try out their Christmas box, which currently retails on their website for only £19. If you're not familiar with Betrousse, they are a beauty box brand, and are currently France's #1 for beauty boxes.

There are two main things that, for me, put Betrousse above any other company that dabbles in the same concept. One is that they are non-subscription. I am frequently put off by subscription companies as I think they're more hassle than they're worth. You can pick and choose boxes from their website (there are some fab boxes up on there for only £19) and pay for them if you like the look of it. Another winning point is that all of their products are full size. You know those rubbish sample sachets that always retire to the back of your drawers, never seeing the light of day again? Well Betrousse boxes contain none. In this particular box you receive seven products.

Admittedly, this was something I felt quite negatively towards. I'm very sceptical of products like this, and if I'm trying to lose weight I'd rather do it without the aid of tablets. If you're into this sort of thing, however, it would be worth purchasing the box just for this, as they retail for £29.95.

This is definitely my favourite thing to come out of this box, especially since the box is nearly 4x cheaper than the product itself! This is an intensely moisturising day cream that manages to keep the skin smooth and hydrated without overdoing it. As I get dry patches on my cheeks, nose and forehead I love products that keep these to a minimum and this has definitely been doing the trick. A bit on the pricey side, but you don't need to use a lot of product and a 50ml tub will go a long way.

After opening the box, this was the product I was most excited about trying. I've read a few reviews on Skinetica before, and although I don't have problematic skin I am prone to the occasional breakout. I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately my skin didn't and I ended up with more spots than I'd had in a long time. This may be due to the alcohol content and my sensitive skin, but I think I'll give this another go and try it once a week instead.

The Belle Nigelle Massage Cream is another favourite of mine from this box. It's rich, creamy and provides a warming sensation when applied to the skin, perfect for achy muscles. It feels lovely on the skin without leaving any greasy residue, and is perfect for applying right before getting into bed.

I'll be completely honest here and admit I was totally unimpressed with these. I haven't used temporary tattoos since I was about 10 years old and I'm sure most people my age would say the same. Although a nice gesture, I can't see me ever getting any use out of these.

I don't think I've ever seen a nail polish this cheap before! I was never one for the crackle trend besides the Dior Jungle Duo but for the price it's nice enough. I'll definitely be checking out more of their products.

I tried out the other mask in this collection last year and although it was messy, it made my skin feel great. I love the cooling effect this has and I'll definitely be picking up more of these. Great for hot weather so one to take abroad I think!

This box has now been rebranded as the Fairy Beauty Box and can be picked up for £19.00, which is still a steal considering the prices of the products inside.

  1. Full sized products!! Thats amazing! I am always put off by Beauty Boxes because they are often samples which you can get for free anyways by just going to a counter/emailing the company. But this looks like a box that I would actually get! The fact that the products actually exceed the box price itself is crazy!

    1. I know, I end up getting absolutely zero use out of those bloody sachet samples and they sit in my drawers for months! This was actually on sale for just £9 a little while ago, they're such good value for a Beauty Box company.

  2. Wow, that's pretty amazing what they give in the box for such a cheap price!! I had to laugh at the temporary tattoos as well... maybe you have a little cousin, niece, etc. that you could give them to?

    1. Haha I know, I think they would have benefited more by placing nail art tattoos in the box instead, but hey ho!
