Nails Inc have recently been churning out special effect nail polishes, the most popular arguably being the leather effect. I was recently asked if I'd like to try something from Littlewoods' Nail Care Range, which I'd previously never heard of, and me being the nail polish fanatic that I am jumped at the chance.
I was sent the Nails Inc Bling It On Leather & Skulls kit (phew, what a name!) which was released earlier this year. Containing a full sized nail polish, nail glue and four crystal skull embellishments, the collection is inspired by the SS13 trends of both texture and leather.
I normally pass these new nail trends off as a bit gimmicky, but after giving it a proper go I've accepted that this is not always the case. I really love the effect this creates on the nails, with an almost matte finish and slightly gritty texture. Before this I don't think I'd ever used nail glue, I prefer natural nails over false and painting them takes up enough time! However this is some seriously strong stuff, and has no problem keeping the crystal skulls intact.
Lazy nail painters will love this kit, you slap on two coats and it dries quickly, with no need for top coats as it ruins the effect. I did see some tip wear after a few days, but it was very easily topped up without messiness.
The daunting prospect for me was removing it. There is no greater nail annoyance for me than removing glitters, so I was dreading it. Imagine my reaction though when I'd had my finger stuck in my Bourjois remover pot for 10 seconds and it was completely gone! No need whatsoever for wandering around with foil fingers as the removal is just as quick and easy as application.
If you love creative looking nails without the fuss, these are definitely for you! Have you tried the Nails Inc Leather Effect polishes yet?
I dont really like the crackle trend on nails because i dont think it looks that good. However, this effect i absolutely love~ It looks so cool and according to you, its really easy to apply and dry which is really important to me for a nail polish. Hmmm i'm not too sure about the skull, if i do ever purchase this leather polish set i may give the skill a little miss~ Thanks for the review! X x X x
ReplyDeleteYeah I think you can get the polishes on their own too so it's good for people that aren't all that interested in the embellishments :) From what I've seen so far all the other colours in the collection look great! xx
Deletethis looks lush! did u not think it felt like sand tho? like if u felt ur nail it was like sand? it freaked me the f out! xx
ReplyDeleteYeah it does haha! Although I'm a bit weird and like the feel of it! xx
Deleteo it actually does look like leather and what a bonus it removes easily removing glitter polish usually makes me really frustrated!

It's just a total nightmare for me! I'm really loving this though, the fact that it's easy to remove makes it 10x better! xx

I wouldn't say it feels thick, but textured definitely. Since you only need two coats it's not too bad :) x
DeleteThis really does look and sound like a great kit for me. I AM SO LAZY when it comes to my nails. The whole effect looks really great, and although I'm not sure I'd use the skulls, I really do like the polish. I'm just on a nail polish spending ban as I own way too many but this is far too tempting!

It can last quite a long time! It was all going swimmingly for me until I caught it on the metal clasp of my handbag haha, really easy to reapply though :)
DeleteI love the look of this - good to hear it's easy to remove too! x
