Life Lately

This week has primarily been spent on Florida websites and forums. My boyfriend and I have decided to go for our five year anniversary in May 2014, and I couldn't be more excited despite it being 13 months away. Nothing has been booked officially yet, but I've been doing a lot of shopping around and at present, our best quote is £3250. That includes flights from Manchester, 14 nights in a Disney resort, car hire and 14-day Disney passes. A bit high in my opinion, but it's a start!

The ratties have been their usual mischievous selves. I've noticed Rolo's lump has been growing which has lead me to believe it's a tumour. I'm in two minds about what to do - she's acting the way she normally does, eating, drinking, chewing holes in my duvet... and I'm not sure if it's worth the risk with her being so small and nearing two years old. If it starts affecting her mobility and diet then another trip to the vets will definitely be in store, but for now she's a-okay!

Before I moved in March I started watching The Vampire Diaries. The hype surrounding it on Tumblr put me off for quite some time and it was ultimately Sophie's tweets that convinced me to watch that first episode. I'm now three seasons in and I'll admit it, I'm hooked. If you're unsure of what it's about, the show centers around the love triangle between Elena Gilbert and vampire brothers Damon & Stefan Salvatore. I love Ian Somerhalder as Damon, his humour really makes the show for me.

In other news, I was told at work last week that once I finish my Level 3 NVQ they're planning on keeping me, which is a huge weight off my shoulders!

Have you been up to much lately?

  2. I'm soooo jealous that you're going to Disneyland haha! I've always wanted to go and I joke that it'll be my honeymoon destination :P Rolo looks adorable in your photo! Hopefully the tumour won't affect him for a long time. My dog now has lumps growing in his armpits and they worry me, but he's moving around fine so we've decided to leave them for now.

    1. Haha if I could have it as my engagement, wedding and honeymoon destination I probably would! If only money grew on trees.

One of our dogs had the same on her stomach a few years back, we left it because it was harmless but did end up getting it removed. Hopefully he's okay!

  3. What a fun anniversary trip (albeit expensive) you're planning!! Such a great thing to look forward to :)
And I'm sorry to hear about Rolo's lump... hopefully she stays well and you don't have to act on it because I know surgery on such small animals is really dangerous even if it's for the better of the animal :(
Congrats as well about being kept at your job!! Sounds like a huge weight off your shoulders and some insurance on the future.

    1. Yep it definitely isn't cheap! But I'd much rather do it now while I'm still living at home with no extravagant bills to pay ;)

      Thanks Cassie :)

    1. It's so hard to get photos of her sometimes because she hates the sound of my camera focusing! Have to trick her into it ;) Here's hoping!

  5. If you wanted something a bit cheaper go for Quality Inn International (but not the ground floor) it's right in the middle of International Drive and really easy to get to everywhere :) I love Florida so much, my boyfriend and I went for my 18th 3 years ago and it was amazing. Fingers crossed we can go back next year as it's a bit different going to South Wales this year!!!

    1. We've had a quote for QII at £2685 which I think is quite high for such a budget hotel, especially considering our on-site Disney quote is only £300 cheaper!

I bet Wales would still be great in a different way though :)

  6. One of my old ratties had a little lump under his leg but it soon grew large enough that he found it difficult to walk so a trip to the vets it was!

Such a lovely photo, I miss both my ratties dearly!

    1. It's sad that they're so prone to them, especially considering how involved they become with everyday life. Hoping the growth slows down a bit! x
