I'll admit, I don't really make New Year's Resolutions. However I've been having a think about my beauty routine and some small changes I'd like to make to it. Nothing too drastic, but small changes that could really make a difference.
Drink Even More Water
Before September 2013, I didn't really drink a lot of water at all. In fact, I only ever used to have 2 or 3 drinks a day. But I decided to cut out pretty much everything except for water and it's been making such a difference. I always opt for tap water when I'm out for a meal too, which knocks about a fiver off the bill at the end of the day!
Clean Makeup Brushes More Often
Something most of us are probably guilty of doing less frequently. I don't clean my brushes nearly half as much as I should, but I'm going to start making time for the task at least once a week.
In 2013 I found myself buying loads of makeup (mainly high street) that I didn't need or even end up liking because of hype surrounding the products. Towards the end of the year I figured out that in most cases you get what you pay for, and I'd rather treat myself to the occasional high end product than waste my money.
Use Natural Skincare & Haircare
I've already started to incorporate more natural skincare into my morning and evening routines, but I struggle with haircare. I'm guilty of using hair products containing SLS but after reading through Lauren Conrad's "Beauty" book I've been learning about how harmful these can be. I really fancy trying The Body Shop's Rainforest Moisture Shampoo after reading this post.
A few non-beauty related resolutions include reading more (I'm on Goodreads here), taking more photos, incorporating more lifestyle posts into PaintPotted and genuinely having as great a time as I did last year.
What are your resolutions for 2014?
