Philosykos has been on my "want but will probably never buy" list for about a year now. Every time I stopped by a Space NK store I couldn't resist having a sniff. So when this popped up in the 50% off sale at Christmas along with a few other fragrances, I ordered it straight away.
Diptyque's best-selling scent, Philosykos is a heavenly combination of fresh, figgy notes, sweet coconut and woody undertones. Reviews describe it as similar to the smell of trees after the rain, and I wholeheartedly agree. It's the most realistic fragrance I've ever come across.
With a retail price of £70, it isn't purse friendly. When you're paying that sort of money for a perfume you'd expect it to last well into the day, but I've found it doesn't. Maybe around four or five hours. However at £34 I can't really complain.
My favourite scent still remains Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire (I'm forever hoping this is never discontinued) but this is definitely a runner up. It's grown up and sophisticated, but still contains the sweetness that I crave in an EDT.
Unfortunately Philosykos in the old packaging is sold out in the Space NK sale, but you can find the other Diptyque scents on offer here.
