Before Christmas I really got into the Laura Mercier bath and body range. I can't tell you how many times I've passed a counter, sniffed at these, claimed I wanted them and never bought anything. I guess it was the price putting me off - these products do not come cheap. I ended up with a few vouchers and Birchbox points, though, and just had to give them a whirl.
First up is the Fresh Fig Honey Bath. This particular scent is one of the nicest I've ever come across. It's absolutely heavenly, with a mixture of Celeste figs, apricot nectar and ylang ylang to create an intoxicating fragrance. I love the addition of the honey dipper - you simply dip this into the pot and twirl it under running water to produce thick and creamy bubbles. You end up using a lot less product this way. At £31 it's not cheap, but I like to keep this for occasions where I'm feeling especially decadent.
The next two products, the Creme Brulee Bath Salts and Souffle Body Creme, came as a duo. They really do smell like rich, warm creme brulee and I have no problem with that at all. The body souffle is one of the best body moisturisers I've tried, it sinks right in and the scent lingers for hours after. While the bath salts smell amazing when you open them up, I find that you have to use a fair amount for the fragrance to translate in the water. For this reason I'd probably recommend buying the creme brulee honey bath instead, to get your money's worth.
I honestly couldn't be more in love with this bath and body range if I tried. For someone with a huge sweet tooth like me, it's perfect. While they're a bit too pricey for everyday use, for a special occasion it's definitely worth a splurge. You can find the other products and scents in the collection here.
