Trying Something Different from Lush

If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll be fully aware that I love Lush's bath products. However they're pretty much the only thing I buy from there, give or take a few lip scrubs and shower gels. So when I was last in store I thought I'd go for something a little bit different and came out with two products from the haircare range, Curly Wurly and American Cream.

I'll openly admit that I'm not the greatest at looking after my hair. I wash it every day. I blow dry it every day. I straighten it every day. Hell, I haven't been to a hairdressers in over 5 years and I cut it myself. So far, so bad - right? But I bought them anyway.

They're not bad, but they're not life changing either. The high point for me is the fragrance of Curly Wurly. Me and coconut scents are a match made in heaven, so it was obvious that I'd love this. In fact, I'd repurchase for that reason alone. But the formula isn't bad, either. I've definitely noticed smoother, more nourished hair. If you don't use conditioner though, it can be a pain to use due to the actual coconut that is in there. Without a follow up of conditioner the pieces will get stuck in your hair.

So I bought American Cream to go with it. The scent to me is less impressive (because it's not coconut) but it's still pleasant. It has more of a strawberry/vanilla fragrance going on. I normally skip conditioners because my hair tends to grease up pretty quickly, but this is light enough so that it nourishes the ends without coating it and weighing it down. I'll be picking up the full sized bottle next time because I actually really like it.

So far I'm pretty impressed with Lush's haircare offerings. I'd love to know if you've tried anything else from the range!

  2. It seems that coconut is a nearly universally liked scent. You can't go wrong. I've yet to test out any hair products from LUSH, but I ought to. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼

  6. I wish Lush shipped to me! I'm pretty bad at looking after my hair too. I hate going to the hairdresser too, but at least you cut your hair. I just let mine be, lol.

  13. I've never branched out with Lush's products either! I always lean towards their bath bombs, soaps, or face masks. But they have so much more to offer :)
