Makeup Revolution Super Wow Sticks

Wearing "Maria"

A couple of weeks ago the I received a parcel from the lovely people at Makeup Revolution containing all 8 shades from their new release, the I ♥ Makeup Super Wow Sticks. Now I love me a good lip product, so I couldn't wait to crack them open and have a good play.

Although on the boxes they're described as "high gloss," Makeup Revolution have actually announced that this has been a misprint and they are in fact "cream matte super saturated" in terms of finish. I'm glad this was corrected as they are the complete opposite of high gloss and actually have a long lasting matte finish. I'm more of a creamy lipstick lover myself, but I do enjoy a matte every now again.

One thing I would recommend before applying these is to prep your lips! Seriously. If you don't and then try to apply over dry and chapped lips, it'll be a disaster. I've learnt my lesson. To get my lips looking a bit more presentable I slap on a coat of Dr Lipp's Nipple Balm for Lips before going wild with these.

The most impressive thing about the Super Wow Sticks is the pigmentation. It's actually ridiculous how full coverage these are. If you're afraid of bold and outlandish lips, these won't be for you. If not, then go right ahead and pick these babies up!

A couple of things worth pointing out - these are seriously difficult to remove. You can't just wipe them off, you have to remove them with a cleanser or makeup remover. They just don't budge easily. Another thing I have to mention is if you plan on buying more than one of these, you'll have to open all of the lids to find out what colour is which, because the shade names are only on the boxes.

Other than the little niggles, these are a bargain at £2.99 each. You can find all eight shades from I   Makeup here.
