As many people do, I got caught up in the Boxing Day/New Year sales at the end of 2014. I was a little disappointed by most of the offerings, as I was predominantly after some new clothes, but ended up with a few beauty bits instead.
The Clarins "All About Lips" set caught my eye as I was walking through House of Fraser. It was reduced down from £19 to £13, and since I skipped on it way back in 2013 I decided now was the time to try out a few of their lip products. I genuinely don't believe these are worth £19. While the glosses and the lip perfectors will likely last a while, the amount of lipstick you get in the bullet is bordering on shocking if I'm honest. I do really love the colours and the formulas though, they apply smoothly and all have a nice sheen to them.
I also ventured into Lush. I'd already placed an order online on Boxing Day itself (which still hasn't arrived, just like last year...) but I wanted to see what they had in store. The answer was not a lot. In fact, it looked as if they were shutting the place down, the shelves were that empty. I did come away with one thing though, and that was the Hot Toddy shower gel with 50% off. It's warm and spicy and generally smells like Christmas, and I really like it. It's also packed with shimmer, and you really can't go wrong with that.
My last beauty buy was the Laura Mercier Lip Transformer Trio from Space NK. This was down to £12.50 and contains a red lip liner, lipstick and gloss. The amount of lipstick you receive in comparison to the Clarins set is much more acceptable here in my opinion. All 3 products work fantastically together and create a ruby red lip that doesn't look too over the top and isn't drying in the slightest.
Did you bag any bargains in the sales?
